Scott Walker is a UK based artist and Illustrator whose interactive colour wall installations draw inspiration from contemporary pop art, comic design and urban street culture.
His unique hand drawn graphics are big and bold and loads of fun.
From the St George's day pavements of Dagenham with Billy Bragg to a residency in the lofty ION art gallery in Singapore, Up Against the Wall breaks down preconceptions about art and brings the colourful side out in adults and children alike.
His colour walls invoke an exciting sense of an urban art in action and a technicolour invitation for all kinds of people.
With his amazing paint pens, Scott draws on considerable experience to work with participants throughout the day, strengthening the design and encouraging positive colouring experimentation. The pens are water based and non toxic yet they are the brightest and boldest pens most people would have ever used.
“There is definitely a sense of anticipation from people as they approach the wall, perhaps it’s the feeling that they are being slightly naughty - or it could just be the hypnotic effect of so much colour “... With paint pen in hand young children go wide-eyed as older kids simply get busy, teenagers rush around signing their names or adding characters and adults create mini masterpieces with their tongues out. Sometimes there are tears as little artists are finally prised away from the wall by time pressed Parents but generally there is a lovely buzz of liberated people and click clack of shaken paint pens”.
Come and join in this fun filled participatory artwork on a street sized scale.
